OVERVIEW
Big Ted’s Excellent Adventure: 50 Years Of Playschool (Big Ted) is a prime-time documentary tribute to the ABC’s flagship children’s program Play School. The program uses archive, celebrity interviews and narration to create a revelatory window into Australia’s early childhood.
The special features interviews with more than 25 notable Australians, including actors, sports personalities, television presenters, comedians, singers and musicians. They describe the moments that helped make them who they are today – and what Playschool means to them. We reveal all of the big moments in Australia’s social history, the ones that affected ordinary families, as well as the funniest, strangest, most politically correct and incorrect moments of the show.
We explore topics as diverse as multiculturalism, identity, stereotyping, feminism, homophobia, drugs and changing family values. And then there are the hilarious complaint letters. Big Ted is a show for the whole family.
